1. Privacy Policy

Your privacy is very important to us. We are committed to protecting and safeguarding your personal data. We act in the interests of our customers and are transparent about the processing of their personal data.

This document (“Privacy Policy”) describes how we use and treat your personal data, in a clear and transparent way. It also tells you the rights you can exercise in relation to them and how you can contact us. Please also read our Cookie Statement for more information on how “dictionary” uses cookies and other similar technologies.

MyLittlePet (MLP) offers online services related to Experiences, through our website and other online platforms (such as partner websites and social networks). Please note that the following information applies to all platforms.

The Privacy Policy concerns all customer information collected by us through these platforms or other means related to them (example: contact with the Customer Service team by email).

We may make changes to this from time to time. For this reason, we recommend that you visit this page occasionally to make sure you are up to date. If there are updates to the Privacy Policy that significantly affect you, you will be notified of the changes.

Personal data is any information relating to an identified or identifiable singular person. An identifiable singular person is considered to be a singular person who can be identified, directly or indirectly, in particular by reference to an identifier, such as a name, an identification number, location data, electronic identifiers or one or more specific elements of the physical, physiological, genetic, mental, economic, cultural or social identity of that singular person.

The holders of personal data are the singular persons to whom the data relates to.

All personal information relating to the Tutor and Partner with the domain www.mylittlepet.pt will be treated in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council of April 27, 2016.

Personal data will be stored in Portugal, although they may be transmitted to other Member States of the European Union, subject to the User's prior consent. MyLittlePet adopts the necessary security measures to guarantee the confidentiality of personal data, ensuring that this transfer is made in accordance with the Personal Data Protection Law.

MLP, together with its suppliers, has implemented a secure data collection, processing and transfer system, preventing losses or unauthorized or improper access and use from occurring. However, there are always associated risks.

By registering on the MLP website, the Tutor and the Partner provide and express their consent to the processing of data collected on the platform to fulfill their requests and seek services from a Partner. The Partner, in return, consents to receive requests from potential interested parties in its services.

2. Definitions

Some of the words have very specific meanings, so consult MyLittlePet's “dictionary” below in these Terms.

If anything in these Terms is (or becomes) invalid or unenforceable, it will continue to apply to the fullest extent permitted by law and will continue to be bound by everything else in these Terms.

The Portuguese version of these Terms is the original version. If there is any dispute regarding these Terms, or any discrepancy between the terms in Portuguese and the terms in any other language, the Terms as presented in Portuguese will apply.

These Terms are set out as follows:

MyLittlePet – refers to the website, its MLP trademark domain, page or set of web pages, as well as its contents, graphics and other information, managed by MLP;

Guardian/Tutor– individual who registers on the MLP website with the aim of finding a Service Provider (MLP Partner) listed on the MLP. Any information provided by the Tutor during registration and registration on the website, as well as order descriptions, MLP evaluations or other information resulting from the use of the website;

Partner / Service Provider – singular and/or VAT registered persons, who provide services, registered on the MLP website, seeking to receive requests from potential interested parties in their services. Any information provided by Partners, whether during the respective registration and registration phase on the website, or regarding the description of their services, experience and training or, extra information requested by MLP or the Tutor;

Services – description and/or list of services presented in the Partner’s own profile, made available through the MLP;

Reservation – request and specification made by the Tutor for the desired service to be provided by a Partner registered on the website;

Privacy policy – description of the processing of data collected from the Partner, Tutor and MLP;

System – computing equipment, data storage and transmission, computer programs and applications, command sequences and automatic data analysis and processing processes used by MLP;

Terms and conditions – rules that MLP, Tutors, Partners and visitors must follow, as established in the User Agreement and Privacy Policy;

General terms, for all types of experiences.

  • Specific terms, only for one type of Experience:
  • Accommodation (Hotels, Nurseries, SPAs, Grooming)
  • Attractions (Travel Assistance Petsitting, Veterinarians, Veterinary Assistants, dog training, dog care, dog drop in visits, etc.)
  • Private transport 
  • Etc.

3. Collecting of Personal Data

MLP only processes Tutor and Partner personal data that is adequate, relevant, essential and limited to what is necessary in relation to the purposes for which they are processed.

In this sense, the Tutor and the Partner may provide personal data to MLP, through the channels established for the same, which will process them exclusively for the purposes mentioned above and following the respective consent.

The data to be processed includes data provided by the Tutor and the Partner through the MLP platform as well as any data provided directly to the MLP by the Tutor and the Partner.

Personal data collected and entered on the MLP website will be stored in a way that allows data subjects to be identified for the period in which it is strictly necessary for the purposes for which they are processed.

The Tutor or Partner may withdraw their consent by expressly communicating their will and/or request the deletion of the registration on the website through appropriate means – right to be forgotten in which the data subject is granted the right to request that the controller delete your personal data, stop its use and, potentially, third parties from having access to it.

When a Tutor or Partner creates a personal registration in the MLP with the domains www.mylittlepet.pt, they fill out a profile, with mandatory and optional fields, and the Tutor and Partner are aware that the information provided is public, finding it accessible to any MLP Tutor and Partner.

The information provided by the Tutor or Partner will be used to statistically monitor the use of the MLP website.

MLP does not collect private information from online contacts made between the Tutor and the Partner.

4. Use of your personal data

All personal information collected from the Tutor and the Partner is intended to provide the safest interactions with MLP.

MLP will process Tutor and Partner data to manage, process and respond to requests for information and communications made by them via the website, email or telephone number provided on the website (includes Customer Service and Call Monitoring – whether or not to record calls), manage your personal settings, share lists, share photos, view the history of Services, Groups and online forums (such as in MLP communities), marketing activities (we use your information for marketing activities ( use your contact details to regularly send you information about related products and services). 

You can unsubscribe from these marketing emails at any time. 

We also integrate external service providers to facilitate payment, refunds or billing services between customers and Partners. 

Where a refund is requested for your Booking, whether by you or the holder of the credit card used to make the booking, we will need to share certain information about your booking with the payment service provider and the relevant financial institution so that the refund can be processed. These may include a copy of your booking confirmation or the IP address used to make your booking. We may share information with relevant financial institutions if we consider this to be strictly necessary for fraud detection and prevention purposes. These service providers share payment information so that we can manage and process your Reservation, ensuring that everything runs smoothly for you.

In addition, we may collect data in the event of a complaint made about you by the Partner, in the event of inappropriate conduct. Also, for regulatory and compliance investigations, to enforce the terms of use of the online booking service.

Partners may also have to share their information with www.mylittlepet.pt. This may happen if you have a question about a pending reservation, or when there is a dispute or other problem with the reservation.

The communication services that we integrate into our platforms are also included. These services allow you to communicate with us and the Partner. In some cases, we will receive metadata about your communications (such as where you called from, who you are, the date and duration of the call).

Regarding to Competent Authorities, we disclose personal data to law enforcement officials in accordance with current legislation or if this is strictly necessary for the prevention, detection or prosecution of criminal acts and fraud, or if we are otherwise legally obliged to do so. it. We may need to disclose further personal data to competent authorities in order to comply with a legal obligation (for example, under short-term rental legislation), to protect and defend our rights or property, or the rights and property of others. our business partners.

5. Subscription 

MLP processes the personal data of subscribers to the platform and disseminates news, for information about news, promotions and updates. For this purpose, MLP processes the contact data of subscribers.

6. Service provision 

MLP processes the Tutor's data for the exclusive purpose of establishing contact with Partners, for the purposes of stay, pet sitting, dog walking, dog daycare, bathing and grooming, nursing and veterinary services, payment information, insurance, among others. For this purpose, MLP may have access to identification data, residence data, contact data, data provided by social networks, location data and Animal data.

7. Registration 

MLP processes the Partner's data in order to present the Tutor with service provider options, in accordance with the preferences described and selected directly by the Tutor. The data is processed to correspond to the services intended by the Tutor and according to the skills of each Partner, these skills may include stay pet, pet sitting, dog walking, dog daycare, bathing and grooming, nursing and veterinary services, among others. For this purpose, MLP may have access to identification data, residence data, contact data, data provided by social media accounts and location data.

8. Sending your own commercial information

MLP processes data to send information about the products and/or services offered or for statistical purposes. For this purpose, MLP may have access to the identification and contact data of the Tutor, Partner and Animal.

9. Submission of commercial information from third parties

MLP processes data to send information about products and/or services offered by third parties. For this purpose, MLP may have access to the identification and contact data of the Tutor, Partner and Animal.

10. Participation in promotions and competitions

MLP processes data for participation in promotions and competitions. For this purpose, MLP may have access to the identification and contact data of the Tutor, Partner and Animal.

A MylittlePet you can:

  1. a) Use the comments and evaluations made by Tutors and Partners among themselves.
  2. b) Use photographs and videos of the Animal for promotional purposes, made available by the Tutor or taken by the Partner during the provision of the service, with the express authorization of the party involved.

MLP stores the information generated when the Tutor and Partner browse the website, for statistical purposes.

MLP may transmit Tutor and Partner data to third parties, when strictly necessary for the exercise of its activity and related thereto.

By legal or judicial requirement, MLP may make the personal information of the Tutor and Partner available that is not published in www.mylittlepet.pt, without your prior and express consent.

11. Collecting of anonymous data through the MyLittlePet.pt website

  1. MLP uses technology that allows the collection of information about website users www.mylittlepet.pt. For example, the website server automatically collects which pages are visited, the user's IP address and which browser is used. This technology does not allow the user to be personally identified, serving only for statistical purposes.
  2. Cookies are files that contain small fragments of information that are downloaded from your device when you visit a website. The use of Cookies on the internet is usual and does not harm the Tutor's and Partner's computers. Cookies perform several functions, namely helping MLP to understand how the website is used, facilitating navigation, saving preferences and, in general, improving the user experience, also serving to ensure that MLP always presents content relevant.
  3. Links to Third Party Sites

MLP has links to other websites, which may contain useful information/tools for the Tutor and Partner. MLP's Privacy Policy does not apply to third-party websites, so if you visit another website from ours, you should read the privacy policy of that third-party website. MLP does not control nor is responsible for the privacy policy or content present on third party websites.

  1.  Updates to the terms of the Privacy Policy

The terms of this Privacy Policy may be changed at any time by decision of MLP, considering that the changes come into force from the date they are posted on the MLP website.

Tutor and Partner's continued access and use of the MLP will be interpreted as a clear indication that they have read, accepted and understood the revised terms of the Privacy Policy.

Under the General Data Protection Regulation, you have the following rights:

Access – Obtain confirmation that personal data is being processed, access them and information about the processing activities of your personal data, in accordance with article 15 of the GDPR.

Rectification – Obtain the rectification of personal data that is incorrect or inaccurate, in accordance with article 16 of the GDPR.

Erasure – Obtain the erasure of personal data in certain situations. Namely, regarding personal data whose processing is based on your consent. You can freely withdraw your consent at any time. Your personal data will be deleted, unless there is another legal basis for the processing, in accordance with article 17 of the GDPR.

Limitation of Treatment – You may, in certain circumstances, require the limitation of processing, in which case the data will be stored, and no other processing operations will be carried out, except when provided for in the GDPR, in accordance with article 18 of the GDPR.

Opposition – Object to the processing of your personal data for reasons related to particular circumstances. These situations are foreseen under article 21 of the GDPR.

Portability – Receive your personal data or have it transmitted to another controller, in accordance with article 20 of the GDPR.

You may also lodge a complaint with the supervisory authority. The national Control Authority is the National Data Protection Commission.
